About

Ink Mage is a competitive multiplayer dueling game where your drawing skills determine your strength in battle. Face off against opponents in real time by sketching spell symbols to cast elemental attacks.

Each round, players have just 10 seconds to draw one of four elemental spells: Fireball, Water Stream, Earth Block, or Air Cutter. The closer your drawing matches the spell’s template, the more powerful your attack becomes.

When spells collide, only the stronger one survives to continue forward and damage your opponent. 

Elemental interactions add another layer of strategy, following a cyclical advantage system: Fire > Earth > Air > Water > Fire.

How to Play

Launch the game and press Play, then enter a display name. Your name is not stored and will only be visible to your opponent during the match.

When you press Join, you’ll be placed into a lobby:

• If another player is already waiting, the match begins immediately.
• If the lobby is empty, you’ll see: “Waiting for players (1 / 2)”

Because the game is in early development, server capacity is limited:

• “No Room Available! Please try again later.” → All rooms are currently full.
• “Could not connect to server!” → Likely a connection issue (see troubleshooting below).

Gameplay

Matches alternate between two phases:

Drawing Phase (10 seconds)
When the notepad lights up, you can draw one of the four spell runes shown beside it.

• Press Submit before time runs out to cast your spell
• You can clear and redraw at any time during this phase

Resolution Phase (~3 seconds)
Watch the outcome in the arena:

• Spells collide and resolve based on strength and elemental advantage
• Health bars update (yours on the right, opponent’s on the left)

Then the next round begins.

Server Connection Troubleshooting

If you are unable to connect to the server: 

• Disable any active VPN
• Ensure IPv6 is enabled
  • Open Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections
  • Right-click your active network connection → Properties
  • Enable Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)
